Before transferring a domain to another registrar, you need to unlock it and obtain the EPP (authorization) code. This guide explains the process for domains registered with Double Hosting.
Unlocking the Domain
Log in to your Double Hosting dashboard, go to Domains, and click the domain you want to transfer. Under Domain Lock, toggle the lock to Unlocked. Save the change.
Getting the EPP/Auth Code
On the same domain management page, click Get EPP Code. The code will be sent to your domain's WHOIS contact email address. It is valid for a limited time β initiate the transfer promptly after receiving it.
Initiating the Transfer at the New Registrar
Provide the EPP code to the new registrar when initiating the transfer. You will receive an email asking you to approve the transfer β click the approval link within the timeframe given (usually 5 days).
If You Decide Not to Transfer
If you change your mind, go back to your domain settings and re-enable the domain lock. The EPP code will no longer be valid for the transfer.
