How to Update Nameservers

Nameservers tell the internet which DNS provider controls your domain's records. Updating them to point to Double Hosting transfers full DNS control to your hosting account.

Finding Your Double Hosting Nameservers

Log in to your dashboard and go to Account > Nameservers. Your nameservers will look like:

ns1.doublehosting.net\nns2.doublehosting.net

Updating at Your Registrar

Log in to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Porkbun, etc.). Find DNS or Nameserver settings for your domain. Replace existing nameservers with the two Double Hosting nameservers. Save changes.

Note: Some registrars call this "Custom Nameservers" or "Use My Own Nameservers".

Propagation Time

After saving, changes propagate globally over 1–48 hours. During this time, some visitors may see your old site while others see the new one. This is normal and resolves once propagation completes.

Verifying the Change

Use whatsmydns.net or run dig yourdomain.com NS in your terminal to check whether the new nameservers are resolving globally.
