How to Add Additional Domains

Most hosting plans allow you to host multiple websites under one account. This guide explains how to add additional domains using cPanel's Addon Domains feature.

Addon Domains vs Parked Domains

Addon Domains host completely separate websites under your account, each with its own document root. Parked Domains (also called Aliases) point to your primary domain β€” useful for domain variations like .net redirecting to .com.

Adding an Addon Domain

In cPanel, go to Domains > Addon Domains. Enter your new domain name, and cPanel will automatically suggest a subdomain and document root. Click Add Domain.

Point DNS to Your Server

If the domain is registered elsewhere, update its nameservers to point to Double Hosting, or add an A record pointing to your server's IP address. You'll find your server IP in cPanel > Server Information.

Verify the Domain is Working

Upload an index.html file to the new domain's document root (shown in the Addon Domains table), then visit the domain in your browser. If it loads, the domain is connected correctly.

Note: Free SSL will be provisioned for the new domain automatically within a few minutes of DNS propagation.
