Softaculous in cPanel lets you install WordPress in under a minute. This guide covers the full installation process from start to your first login.
Open Softaculous
In cPanel, scroll to Software > Softaculous Apps Installer. Click WordPress, then Install Now.
Configure the Installation
- Protocol: https://
- Domain: your domain
- Directory: leave blank for root install
- Site Name: your website name
- Admin Username: avoid using "admin"
- Admin Password: use a strong password
- Admin Email: your email
Complete the Installation
Click Install. Softaculous creates the database, installs files, and configures WordPress. This takes 30β60 seconds. You'll receive links to your site and the WP admin panel.
First Steps After Installation
Log in at yourdomain.com/wp-admin. Update Settings > General for site title and timezone. Install a caching plugin for performance. Delete the default Hello World post and Sample Page.
