Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your account. Even if your password is compromised, an attacker cannot log in without your 2FA code.

Enabling 2FA on Your Dashboard

Log in to your Double Hosting dashboard. Go to Account > Security > Two-Factor Authentication. Click Enable 2FA. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar). Enter the 6-digit code to confirm, then save your backup codes in a secure location.

Enabling 2FA on cPanel

In cPanel, go to Security > Two-Factor Authentication. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app and enter the generated code to activate. Thereafter, every cPanel login requires your password plus the 6-digit code.

Backup Codes

Save your backup codes when 2FA is set up. If you lose access to your authenticator app, a backup code is the only way to log in. Store them offline β€” in a password manager or printed securely.

Disabling 2FA

To disable 2FA, go to the same section where you enabled it and click Disable. You'll need to enter your current 2FA code or a backup code to confirm the change.
