How to Scale Your VPS Resources

As your traffic grows, you may need more CPU, RAM, or storage. Double Hosting VPS plans can be scaled up quickly from your dashboard.

Vertical Scaling (Upgrade Plan)

Log in to your dashboard, go to your VPS, and click Upgrade. Select a larger plan with more CPU, RAM, and storage. The upgrade requires a brief server restart (typically under 2 minutes). Your data is preserved.

Adding Extra Storage

If you only need more disk space without upgrading the full plan, additional storage volumes can be attached to your VPS. Contact support to request an additional block storage volume, which appears as a new disk device you can format and mount.

When to Scale

Signs you need to upgrade:

  • CPU consistently above 80% during normal operations
  • Memory usage above 90% causing swap usage
  • Disk I/O wait above 20%
  • Page load times increasing despite software optimisations
