Reinstalling the OS gives you a clean server β useful after a serious compromise, a failed configuration, or when switching Linux distributions.
Before You Reinstall
Warning: OS reinstallation completely wipes the server. All files, databases, and configurations are permanently deleted. Back up everything important before proceeding.
Reinstalling from Your Dashboard
Log in to your Double Hosting dashboard. Go to your VPS, click Manage, then Reinstall. Choose your desired OS from the available options (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, CentOS, etc.) and confirm. The reinstall takes 5β15 minutes. You'll receive new root credentials by email.
After Reinstallation
After the OS reinstall, you start fresh. Run system updates immediately, configure your firewall, set up SSH keys, and restore your applications from backups.
